Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Willow!
Willow is a playful ball of energy who absolutely loves his toys! He walks nicely on a leash but brings his playful, high-energy personality to every adventure. Whether he's bouncing around with excitement or giving you his sweet attention, Willow is always ready to make you smile.
This handsome guy adores being with people and has a lot of enthusiasm both inside and outside the kennel. He's also very interested in making new doggie friends, making him a great companion for a home with other pets. If you're looking for a joyful and playful pup to brighten up your days, Willow is the perfect match!
Willow did a meet and greet with a potential adopter on 10/18/24. Willow was very easy to leash and walked calmly out of the kennel, until he saw the people that wanted to meet him. He can bounce pretty HIGH!
The people didn't mind though because he is an energetic dog. He would walk a bit then bounce in the air every few steps until we made it outside and headed towards the play yard. He started pulling just a little, but not too hard. Very easy to correct the behavior then and there.
Once in the play yard, I dropped his leash and he immediately got the zoomies, shot by, grabbed a tennis ball, took off again, dropped the tennis ball as the person threw another one. We all took turns doing this and he never seemed to tire.
On occasion, he would come crawl into a lap, boop your hand with his nose for you to pet him. He LOVES being patted all over! He will lay in your lap after he's done playing and chill with you.....until you throw the ball again. Very toy driven, takes toys gently, walks okay on leash, energetic, likes to bounce like a pogo stick, the bouncing is easily corrected and he is slowly learning to not bounce right next to people as it can be a tripping hazard with the leash.
Willow stayed out in the play yard a bit longer once the potential adopters, I filled the swimming pool and he played in it for a few minutes and I took him back inside. He was very easy to re-kennel.
Very playful dog.
Whenever I get to a good stopping point with customer service (clear lobby), I go to get Willow out of his kennel so he can play for a bit. He barks at other dogs through the fence, but he wants to play with them, just a bit loud when doing so. Willow will bounce the entire way to the play yard, once inside, will grab a ball and immediately want to play fetch. He doesn't bring the balls back just hoards them until you pretend to not want to play anymore, then he will only bring you ONE!
Willow and I once again played in the swimming pool with his tennis balls. He played with another dog between the fence, bringing her his tennis balls and racing her along the fence. At some point he would come to check on me and lay in my lap as I was sitting on the ground.
He rolls over for belly rubs and if you scratch under his rib cage, his little leg starts moving while he looks at you with his tongue hanging out. It's hilarious!
He is doing amazing with walking on leash like a good boy now. I still have a bit of work to do though.
Willow is very gentle when taking toys and lays on you when you are sitting on the ground. Basically inserts himself into your lap to love him. An extremely sweet dog and it's hard to not foster him. He's the perfect dog. A bit quirky but aren't we all at some point?!
Would be a beautiful dog to walk around, go for a jog, watch TV with, etc. He's multiple dogs in one. Sweet boy.
Definitely a staff favorite for me!
