For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
If you're unsure about having guinea pigs as pets but you're considering it, please consider these two. They are exemplary piggies and they sure are so deserving of a safe, loving home to spend the rest of their lives in. Benny and Jett are 6 years old and while they may be considered seniors as far as guinea pigs go, they are healthy and happy, and plan on sticking around for a long time! They were given up by their original family to someone else that just didn't want them. They were going to "toss them in the woods"..... so here they are, hoping you'll find it in your heart to give them a good life. Benny (one black eye, one white) is a little more squeaky than his bro, but he's so incredibly cuddly, lovable, and clingy-sweet! Jett (both black eyes) is more confident and he's so happy just to be held, petted, and get some attention. Neither of them are overly-dramatic and they are both such mellow, good boys. Please give them a chance! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org to meet them. File#76163/64 9/28/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
