My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We have a ground transport trip set to leave from CA on 10/22 that we are personally taking our dogs on to the east coast. We have stops in OH, PA, NJ, and CT as of now, and would love to add Phil to our transport for the right home no matter where you are in route! Adoption fee/travel is due when we arrive in person with Phil present, as we want our adopters to feel as comfortable as possible throughout the entire adoption process ❤️

Meet Phil! He is a purebred standard poodle. He is gray/silver in color and absolutely gorgeous! He is 2.5 years of age, and weighs 40 lbs. Yes, he is full grown, and at a very healthy weight. He is just tall, and naturally lean ❤️ He is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, has been thourely examined by our vet, and has been cleared to find a home all his own.

He is house trained, and will go outside to use the restroom as needed throughout the day when asked to. He is crate trained, and currently sleeps in his crate at night, but if you wanted him to transition to sleeping on a dog bed in your room bedside I'm sure he would happily oblige! Leash training is going very well, but it's definitely one thing that will need to be brushed up on in his next home. He is very smart and aims to please, so it's very easy to work with him, but with the extremely hot summer we had here, leash time was very minimal since he has been with us.

He is wonderful with other dogs, and cats alike. If you have another wonderful animal at home, he would instantly become their friend ❤️ He is great with men, women; and children. He truly LOVES everyone. He is very social, and outgoing. He loves when he gets to go out with us here for any reason, even if it's just to run errands. He loves road trips of any length, and once his leash comes out, he knows it's time to go ❤️❤️❤️❤️

He is your typical Velcro poodle. He loves being wherever his humans are, and to be a part of what they have going on. He is also very independent and will nap while you are tending to other things, if he isn't just lounging nearby minding his own business.

He knows basic commands like sit, stay, come, and treat 🙃 He loves treat time, so be prepared to have some goodies tucked away for him 😊

Fun fact ❤️❤️❤️

He LOVES watching TV. He will stay as engaged from the beginning, as he will to the very end. He is an intelligent boy, and possibly part human 🤷‍♀️

He is beautifully tempered. Kind hearted. Loving. And a total sweetheart from the moment he meets you ❤️ He loves head and ear rubs and will sit in front of you gazing into your eyes with his big beautiful eyes and gently nudge you for more pets, and of course we happily oblige every time. I mean, how can we tell him no 🙃

He LOVES his spa days with our groomer. He does phenomenal with her, and is always happy when he realizes that's where we end up when driving 😊

He is a great dog, and an even greater friend. Whomever says yes; to this wonderful boy will have a heart overflowing with love every day spent with him.

Adoption fee can be found on our website under his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/_phil

It covers his vet costs, the care associated with time he has been here with us, his grooming costs, and the training we have personally done with him.

Additional adoption info

we are very hands on in the work we do and strive to be a part of our dog's journeys from beginning to end. We do not make our adopters jump through unnecessary hoops to obtain our approval, as we believe this should be an overall joyous experience.
