My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Morticia: A Sweet Heart Ready for a Loving Home

Hi, I'm Morticia. I'm a sweet and loving gal with a big heart, despite a rough start in life. I came into care after having a litter of kittens on the street. Sadly, they didn't make it, but I poured all my love into the one baby who survived. Now that my little one has found her forever home, it's my turn to find a place where I can be cherished and loved.

I'm ready to offer my affection and companionship to someone special. I may have a gentle and resilient spirit, but I'm eager to fill your home with warmth and love. If you're looking for a devoted and tender-hearted kitty who deserves a fresh start, come meet me. Together, we can create a new chapter filled with care and happiness.

The Chilliwack Branch is an Animal Protection Centre for pets who have been rescued from abusive or neglectful homes. The Centre is open to the public by appointment only due to the security issues associated with housing animals awaiting the outcome of legal proceedings. We will accept surrendered animals by appointment only, and we are open for adoptions on special occasions.

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
