My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bear! Bear spent his whole life with a family. Unfortunately he was hit by a car and his family couldn’t afford the care needed to save him. A shelter stepped up to do the surgery, but in an overcrowded shelter, healing was not going well. Bear joined TTDR after that and went into a foster home where his foster has been nursing him back to health. He had some hiccups with his post surgery healing, but he is finally back on four legs and doing well.

Bear is a handsome Husky mix with eyes that will melt your heart. He weighs 53 lbs. He has the Husky personality – playful, friendly and super-smart. Bear wants to be with his people - he will follow you from room to room or stay by your side when working or watching TV. He will let you know when he wants to play, go out to potty or just needs some loving. When he wants loving, he with just lay on you or at least try. None of these behaviors are all the time.  He definitely has energy that will only get greater as his mobility improves. Bear will thrive with an active family.  He loves human interaction and should not be left alone for long periods of time every day.  He would be best suited for a family who will regularly take him for hikes and walks in parks. He travels in cars well. A secure yard is a must.  Bear would enjoy time outside, playing fetch with his family.  Bear is currently afraid of moving vehicles, especially trucks, so the ideal home would be on a quiet street.  Patience will be required at first – gradually increasing activity as Bear regains strength and mobility in his leg which is healing. Bear is currently in foster in the Indy area, but can be transported to an approved foster or adopter. He can't wait to meet you!
