What makes Hazel truly special is her balanced nature. She’s playful without being pushy, affectionate without being clingy, and social without jealousy. She brings pure joy wherever she goes. From her soft little woof to say hello to her goofy hops in playtime, Hazel has a way of lifting spirits like no other and she's softer than velvet! Hazel has the softest ears that you cant' help but become addicted to petting and she has the most beautiful soulful eyes. She has those type of eyes that when she looks at you it's almost like she's looking into your soul and knows exactly what you're thinking. Her gaze gives you a great sense of calmness and warmth that you can't help but feel the overwhelming amount of love that she has to offer.

Hazel is a bundle of joy wrapped up in 66 pounds of love and sweetness. At just about 1 year old, she’s the perfect mix of charm and goofiness. With her classic Staffie features and maybe a dash of Boxer flair, one thing’s for sure: she’s 100% wonderful!
Hazel’s ideal home could look like so many different things. She has spent time in an apartment style environment and did amazing. She had no issues walking up the stairs, was also very quiet in her kennel, and is a pretty mellow girly that doesn't require a whole lot of exercise which is also another reason as to why we think she would do great in an apartment. A simple walk around the neighborhood and walk to the park will be just exactly what she needs. Hazel would also do great in a home with a backyard where she can hangout with you on the patio, have some fun romping around, and where she can sunbathe. Hazel has wonderful house manners and she can even be trusted to leave unattended for short periods of time. She'll patiently wait for your arrival home. Hazel is crate trained and potty trained as well. You wanna know where Hazel's spot is though? It's snuggling with you on the couch, in the bed, or sitting by your feet while you cook dinner or do other chores around the house. She has the best calming energy and presence about her that makes you feel all warm inside. If you're looking for a companion and for your own best friend that will love you no matter what, Hazel is your girl. She has also been around kids 8+ and would make an excellent family dog. She’s easy-going and adaptable, whether you’re searching for a loving family dog, a buddy for your current pup, or a new best friend to brighten your days. The only non-negotiable? She thrives on affection! Snuggles, sweet talk, or a playful session fill her up with love, and in return, she’ll shower you with unmatched devotion.
Not only is Hazel your next best friend but she can also be your dog's next best friend! She has been introduced to so many different types of dogs and has also lived in a multi dog household. Another bonus (as if it can't get better than that), she is even used as an assessment dog at the rescue. This means that Hazel welcomes our new intake dogs, and teaches them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, while showing us bits of their personality that are only apparent in dog-to-dog interactions. She is a big goofball in playgroup, delighting everyone with her adorable little bunny hops as she greets every dog like a long-lost friend. Hazel loves to play chase, run around with the other dogs, and loves to wrestle! One way that she likes to play is with her body. She loves bouncing and hopping around and sometimes that even means a bounce and a hop into her doggie friends. Hazel isn't all play all the time with her doggie friends. She knows when to take breaks and respects when other dogs don't want to play with her. She'll always give it go though and try to get dogs to play with her. In her eyes, you never know if you never try. So if you have other dogs, she would make a great addition to a multi-dog home and would do best with dogs that have a similar play style as her. She’s a social butterfly at home, lighting up every room with her happy personality and warm welcomes. One of the best things about having Hazel around is no matter where you are or what you're doing, she'll always find a way to make you smile. She loves sitting on the couch and just sitting there watching you. It's super cute. But when it’s time to step outside, she’s the definition of chill—no pulling to meet strangers, making her the perfect companion for those nature quiet walks. She does pull occasionally at the beginning when she's excited but after a few corrections she's back walking like the little princess that she is. She is treat motivated as well and already knows basic commands such as sit and she is learning how to play fetch! She loves toys and will go chase down tennis balls and stuffies but she hasn't quite learned how to bring them back yet. Honestly, it's pretty cute and enduring. She gets so excited and happy when she gets to the ball or the stuffy and just looks at you with such happiness and that look of "aren't you so proud of me?!" eyes. Everything about her is honestly adorable and we know you are going to think the exact same thing once you bring Hazel home.

We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.
Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!
Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.
While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.
It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
