Sienna von Sibbesse is a gorgeous 2 year old German Shepherd mix. Sienna is a sweet and gentle girl. A little shy initially, she will snuggle up to you for treats, affection and a reassuring word. Speaking of treats, she will take them gently from your hand while learning her commands. Sienna would be a good choice for a home with other dogs. She is currently sharing space at the rescue with several other dogs. She loves the company of other like-minded pups, and finds comfort in walking with her pack. Off-lsh she shows a bit more confidence. She is a great “greeter” in the play yard – politely saying “hello” to dogs as they come in. Sienna even passed her initial small dog and cat testing. Come meet sweet Sienna and let her capture your heart!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
