AmberJack is a delightful calico with a vibrant personality! Her love for play and quick adjustment to new environments make her an ideal companion for someone who enjoys an active and engaging pet. It's great that she has a passion for toys, as they are essential for keeping cats entertained and stimulated.

AmberJack was found in a community group of cats in Miami. It was thought she was feral but she just loves people and must have been loved at one time! No one knows where she spent the early months of her life, but she was found with ferals outside with an eye missing and an ear tipped. She is a mystery

All pets adopted from GDHS are spayed or neutered, have vaccinations brought up to date, are on heartworm preventative (dogs), FIV/FELV tested (cats) and microchipped.
The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter, and all visits are by appointment only.

Submit Application

Go to our website www.derryhumanesociety.com and find the animal you are interested in and submit an application for that pet.

2.
Interview

If you are a good match for the animal you are requesting, a volunteer will call and interview you over the phone.

3.
Meet the Pet

A meeting will be set up with your family, the pet, and the foster family. If successful, a vet and home check will be done.

Additional adoption info

The Greater Derry Humane Society does not have a physical shelter. If you would like to meet an animal, donate items, or meet with us for any other reason, an appointment is required.

The Greater Derry Humane Society, Inc. rescues animals and places them in permanent loving homes. We do not maintain a shelter, all of our rescued animals are kept in foster homes until we can place them. We have a no-kill policy.
