My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Heartworm Positive, finished treament, needs neuter after 6 months

My adoption fee is $250 which covers my annual distemper booster, rabies, and being spayed/neutered and microchipped and having gone through heartworm treatment.

I have been through HW treatment and need to be retested in 6 months. Because of this, I am looking for someone to foster to adopt me when I can get neutered in 6 months with a heartworm negative test.

I’m the epitome of a pittie!

My foster family thinks I have a horrible history of being used for fighting based on some physical changes that have been made to me.

My ears are cropped as low as they’ll go and done unevenly which they think means was done in someone’s back yard.

My teeth are also filed down, so they are mostly not sharp, but they don’t cause me any issues.

I came into my foster’s home extremely emaciated and riddled with heartworms which means I wasn’t provided the most basic of love and care.

The rescue and my foster mom have made sure I received heartworm treatment which I’m now done with and they say I should live a long, normal, happy life!

And let me tell you, despite everything that’s been done to me and that I’ve gone through I’m nothing but a happy happy happy dog!

All I want to do is be by my people and give them all the love I was never shown.

My foster mom says I’m the description of “a bull in a China shop” because I’m so desperate to give love and be loved on!

My perfect home would be one that understands I do have a history (I don’t let it affect me), doesn’t have cats, a home that is willing to train me and teach me how to contain my energy, and a home that will provided me with the care and love I desire and deserve so much? Are you my special home?!

More about this rescue

Arise Animal Rescue is a donation only, non-profit organization. We are a foster-based rescue which means all of the rescued animals are in homes with foster volunteers. Fosters ensure that the rescued animals are given a loving, temporary home. During this time, the fosters provide training skills, medical providence, and the necessary needs to recover from a life on the streets and the shelter. The rescue is given the chance to learn how to trust humans and to give/receive love.

Arise Animal Rescue goes to local high-kill shelters about twice a week to save dogs or cats on the euthanasia list. We ensure that these rescues are given age-appropriate vaccines, are spayed or neutered, microchipped (dogs only) and any other medical needs as necessary. The rescue has on average 50-80 animals at any given time in foster homes.

We take on many medical cases that require a lot of funds to pay for their medical needs and recovery. Some of our rescued animals have been shot, starved, parts of their bodies cut off, and/or beaten. As a rescue, we believe that every animal deserves a chance to fight for their life and we want to be able to give them the ability to do so.
For Arise Animal Rescue, it truly takes a village to help our rescued animals have a 2nd chance at a better and loving life.

Arise has weekly adoption events to help the rescued animals in foster homes have the chance to live a 2nd life with a new forever home.
