My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beans is so EXTRA in literally every way.

  • He most obviously has EXTRA toes as a poly kitty.

  • He is EXTRA affectionate, you have to want a cuddly lap kitty who gives kisses, he's drapes across my chest and rubbing on my hands even as a type this.

  • He is EXTRA soft, the most amazing bunny fur, looks like he will be a medium longhair and also EXTRA gorgeous (as a bonus)

  • He is EXTRA social and wants to meet everyone, all the time.  He comes to work with me and is the official greeter and lap cuddler.

  • He is EXTRA goofy with no filter.  He is right there involved with everything you do even if he gets wet or falls down.

  • He is EXTRA special as a mix between a Siamese and a fluffy longhair tuxedo

  • He is EXTRA lucky.  Seriously, this kitty was saved from a predator attack and then able to be rushed to a safe place at a rural reascue.

Beans was  rescued with his brother after theirr mama was killed defending them against a predator.  This guy is the definition of luck.  He was rescued, taken to a loving foster home and recovered from his injury from the attack.  He is living in a family with other cats and dogs and going to work with their foster mom.  They meet so many more people at their foster mom's job and love to travel in the car.  He is super social and confident with people, in new places and with other dogs and kitties, due to this enriched babyhood.

From his injury as a baby, he does have some hind end weakenss which makes him adorably wobbly and can't jump high but lives a totally normal kitty life and can run and play and jump to low things.

Additional adoption info

Interested adopters go through a careful screening process to include reference checks, telephone interviews, and where appropriate, home visits. No cat will be placed in a new home which allows cats to go outside. The adoptive owners agree to give Austin Siamese Rescue, Inc. the option of reclaiming the cat, should the adoption not work to the advantage of the new owner and the cat.

Adoption fees for Austin Siamese Rescue, Inc. range from $100 to $225 and include such vet work as combo test, vaccinations, worming and flea control, and microchip. We spay or neuter all of our cats prior to placement and most of our kittens, depending on their size and readiness.

For more detailed information and our adoption policies, see the Adoption Info section of our web page.

More about this rescue

Austin Siamese Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization, formerly the Austin Branch of Texas Siamese Rescue. We focus on the 14 breeds of the Royal Thai Family, including Siamese, Balinese, Javanese, Oriental Shorthairs and Longhairs, Birmans, Burmese, Himalayans, Ocicats, Ragdolls, Snowshoes, and Tonkinese. All of the cats fostered in Austin are cared for in private homes by individuals who dedicate their spare time to this effort.

Our cats come from a variety of backgrounds. Some faced death at the shelter, while others came from abusive and neglectful households. Still others were treasured companions of guardians who could no longer care for them. What they all have in common is a need for a forever home, where they can live their lives as the happy, pampered cats they all deserve to be. We're looking for the perfect inside home for them!
