My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Drago was found hobbling around in the road by a Good Samaritan who brought him to the shelter. It appears that this young boy has a fractured right front leg as a result of being hit by a car. He is very friendly and has been very tolerant of being handled and worked on by the shelter staff. His leg has been splinted and he will be on cage rest for the next 6-8 weeks. Drago is 7 months old and weighs 47 pounds.

NorthStar has rescued this boy from the shelter and he will be getting the medical care necessary to get him back on his feet again so that he can live a happy, active life like a normal puppy. Drago is 7 months old and currently weighs 47 pounds. His foster mom takes him outside to potty 3 times a day & Drago hasn't had any accidents. This boy comes alive in the presence of other dogs so we believe he will do best in a home with another dog his size (or two) for companionship. Drago also loves bellyrubs!

Before adoption, Drago will be neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this sweet boy is $425.

If you're interested in adopting this young boy when he arrives in NJ, please submit an adoption application for DRAGO TX - be sure to mention his name!

More about this rescue

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another. For these animals, there is not much hope…except to look in the night sky for the North Star, their only way out. We are a group of passionate volunteers committed to saving these innocent dogs and finding them a new forever home. NorthStar Pet Rescue was founded in 2017, and although we might be a relatively new name among New Jersey animal rescues, you may recognize some of us from the work we’ve done volunteering with other rescues to help animals over the past decade. We are 100% dedicated to operating in an safe, transparent, and ethical manner and to ensuring the best veterinary practices are followed with regards to the care and transport of our animals. NorthStar Pet Rescue is IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 81-5348036).
