For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Meet Wesley, he came into the animal shelter after a Good Samaritan found him wandering around their neighborhood. Wesley has been affectionate with people so far here in the shelter, leaning in for pets at the kennel door. Wesley does not appear to have any experience living indoors, and therefore will need to head to an adoptive home who can work with him on potty training, leash training, and socialization with other dogs. Wesley`s adopters will need to commit to positive-reinforcement training only, to ensure a deep bond with his adopter and the best chance at creating positive interactions with the environment. He has met dogs here at the shelter and warmed up slowly, he will be required to meet any resident dogs prior to going home. The Good Samaritan observed a high prey drive with Wesley, therefore a home without small animals or cats is recommended.
From 10/5 through 10/31, we are having a “Spooky Low Adoption Fees” promotion. All cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies will have a reduced adoption fee of $31, while small animals will have a fee of $13. No tricks, all treats!
Come on in to meet your new BFF today at 1001 Rodriguez Street, Santa Cruz from 11-6pm. All adoptions are first come, first serve in person at the Shelter, and must be completed before 4:45pm.
