-Mattie came in as an owner surrender, along with a bunny. This poor girl had clearly been neglected for a long time. She was literally covered in mats that looked like dreadlocks. We gave her a hair cut, and have been brushing her daily with dust baths and she’s been doing wonderful! She is a very sweet girl who can be nervous with hands at first (and will tell you she’s uncomfortable), but once she knows you she doesn’t mind pets and being picked up. We’d love to find her somewhere she can have other female chinchillas as friends! Chinchillas can live 20 years with proper care! We do not recommend chinchillas for children as they do not make good pets for children under 12. They require a specialized habitat with multiple levels, specific food, and regular grooming care.
