My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

As a recently owner-surrendered cat, I would like to thank the HSHC for taking me in and providing me with medical care, a proper diet, and loving attention. I am a 7-year-old female, brown and black Tabby. I lived with my owner for five years, moving repeatedly, with the latest move coinciding with my owner starting a hybrid work schedule and an ex-partner moving out. I lived with an unaltered male cat who tried to `hump`` me and another altered female cat in the home. I was so unhappy that I developed a UTI and began avoiding the litterbox. As you may know, cats do not accept change easily. For us, change equals stress! I promise you, I am a very lovable cat. Especially if I don`t have to live with male cats. When the interviewer lady (IL) came to talk with me, I immediately greeted her, giving her head butts and rubbing against her arm while she petted me. I rolled onto my side and asked her to continue massaging my back and neck. We had a lovely time, and I hated to see her go. I hope to find a new owner who will give me the space and time to adjust to an unfamiliar home. I look forward to meeting you! 11-2-24

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
