My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Anchovy, affectionately known as Chovy! This 10-month-old, 56-pound Shepherd mix is full of love and energy, and we can’t believe he hasn’t found his forever home yet! After spending five months at another shelter, Chovy has settled in with his Wish Bone foster family and shown all of us just how special he is.

He’s house trained, crate trained (though he may bark for a bit before settling down), and absolutely adores kids, other dogs—big and small—and all the people he meets. Chovy’s playful personality shines through when he’s running around the house, playing with toys, or hanging out in the yard with his canine pals. He’s a loyal companion who loves to follow his people around and stay close by.

Chovy will thrive in an active home with a fenced yard, where he can get plenty of exercise and playtime. If there isn't a fence in his future home, he will need plenty of mental and physical exercise.

His foster mom describes him as very loving and full of energy, always ready for fun. If you’re looking for a playful, happy pup who will fill your days with joy, Chovy might just be the perfect fit! His minimum adoption fee is $295 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
