My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meleys:

I was found with my kittens on a street in Springfield. Fortunately I was taken in, fostered, and now I am through with motherhood and I am ready to move on! I am a loving kitty who wants to be with my people all the time, and I will provide enthusiastic greetings to my person. I am not a lap cuddler, but I will join you for pets and sit next to you. I am chatty and I hold up my end of a conversation with adorable chirps and trills. Now that I no longer have to care for my kids, I can play with wand toys and toy mice. I love everyone I meet, and I got along well with the 9-year old in my foster home. Because I do not like to be picked up or restrained, I may not do well with very small children who do not understand my boundaries. I did not like the resident cats, and will be happiest as the one-and-only cat in my new home. I was initially hissy with the resident dog, but I stopped minding his peek-a-boo over the barrier which separated us.

I am a real sweetheart and will make someone a great companion. Are you ready to help me write the next chapter of my life??

Compatibility:
Cats: No thanks
Dogs: Possibly if cat-savvy and can respect boundaries. Slow introduction.
Kids: Possibly if older, cat-savvy and respectful of boundaries.

The shelter is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon - 4:30 pm, with no appointment needed to meet available cats.
