For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Hello humans, I’m a handsome little Cairn Terrier mix named Brewster. I am about 4 years old, 16 lbs, and my gorgeous golden locks hardly shed. I was living inside a water culvert in Nixon Texas and I was a wreck. Besides being lonely, scared, and hungry, I had a skin infection, eye infection, ear infection, an umbilical hernia, and was in desperate need of a dental. It was a happy day indeed when the local shelter found me and reached out to 4 Little Paws Rescue, and now I’m like a new dog! Healthy, happy, and friendly with everyone, and now I have a great smile too!
I’m a good boy with a sweet temperament and a medium energy level. I’m starting to feel more playful with my doggy friends, preferring girls over boys. I guess you could say I’m a ladies' man. I’m discovering doggy toys and doggy treats, and always love snuggles and pets without being clingy or over the top about it. Sometimes I enjoy being a loner, curling up in my dog bed to just watch the goings on or look out the window. I only bark when I need to alert you to something and I am working on my housebreaking lessons and doing well. I don't mind going for walks on a leash or taking rides in the car and I don't mind a crate if I’m not left in there all day! I’m a confident dog who seeks direction and aims to please the humans I love so much. I’ve proven myself to be very resilient and I’m looking forward to the next and final chapter of my story… finding a loving family who will take good care of me. I hear the Eastern Seaboard is the place to be, so inquire about me today and bring me home!
* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
