Harley is a sweet older lady who came to us from a busy household of children and animals where she was struggling to feel comfortable. While this older girl would appreciate a quieter home to spend her golden years in, she by no means wants to nap all day! Her foster mom says she is incredibly young at heart and loves to watch the birds and squirrels outside, or sit high up on her perch and supervise the comings and goings of her home. Harley ADORES attention and affection. Her foster mom tells us she may actually be a golden retriever trapped in a cat's body and she's always up for some cuddles! Although Harley struggled in her busy former household, she may do well with polite and respectful kids as she did enjoy playing with the tween in her foster family. Harley's foster mom tells us she has the love of 6 cats to offer, but if you already have a cat at home and feel you may actually need the love of 7 cats around, the shelter team can give you some tips of intros! Harley does appreciate a clean litter box though, so just make sure you are able to offer enough litter boxes to keep everyone happy. Senior kitties are truly the best, and Harley is extra special, so please come meet this sunny lady today!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
