My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A new best friend awaits you, and her name is Lunar Eclipse! She's quite a shy pup, needing time to warm up to new people and places. That's why her ideal family will be patient, gentle, and know to go slow to help her gain more confidence in scary situations. Once settled in, that's when the magic truly starts! Lunar Eclipse is a very sweet, affectionate girl that will ask for more pets by pawing at you (so you better not stop!). And like all puppies, proper training will ensure that she practices proper doggy manners! Kids may be okay, as long as they are able to understand Lunar Eclipse's body language if she needs some alone time. Interested adopters should be aware that she has higher grooming needs than other dog breeds, as her fur continuously grows! If you think you're the right home for her, make an appointment to come learn more about Lunar Eclipse today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
