For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
This gorgeous German Shepherd mix we named Foxy is stunning. She has a predominant German Shepherd appearance but is smaller in stature currently weighing around 30 lbs. She's young - approximated to have been born around March 2024. This poor girl was found dumped in a Houston suburb known to be a dumping ground for unwanted animals. It's something we can't understand and hope that someday such a situation isn't allowed. She's very sweet and friendly and will bond quickly with her new family. She looks to her caregivers for guidance and reassurance telling us that she is eager to learn and will be easy to train. She is still learning how to walk on leash and would benefit from continued training. She can be vocal at first when meeting new dogs but we believe that through positive reinforcement during introductions that this can be curbed. She likes receiving attention and being pet. Foxy will make a dedicated, fun, snug-bug companion. Being true to the German Shepherd breed, she is intelligent and will really blossom in a home that can provide her with daily physical and mental exercise. She'd make a great partner for someone that gets outdoors daily to enjoy a brisk walk and exploration. Foxy is spayed, up to date with vaccinations and micro-chipped. If interested, please email us for an application at adoptions@smilingdogfarms.org
Please note we are always in need of foster homes for our dogs, Marissa included. If interested in making a difference in a dog's life, we would love to share with you what it means to be a foster parent. Foster homes greatly increase the chances of speedier adoptions and you'd be making a huge, positive difference in the life of an animal who needs you.

We are dedicated to ensuring that our dogs go to a "forever" loving, nurturing home. As a result, our process is stringent, requiring an application, home visit, vet and reference checks and an adoption contract. We want the adoption to be a match made in heaven for both the new adoptive parents and the adopted dog.
