Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Albondiga`s person left for a long journey before she landed here. She`s almost 13, spayed and just 35 lbs and heart worm negative. She`s lived in a smaller home setting with 3 children and a small male dog. She`s been noted to be very friendly to everyone. She`s a leash pro, very used to walks and is very housetrained and has stayed loose at home for a full work day. She would love to return to a home setting where she`ll be welcomed to her very own dog bed and we have one for her to take home. We just need you so hurry in and don`t make her wait any longer than needed. Life in a shelter can be lonely and a little scary. Fees are waived for adoption. Her good friends at Classic Canines are putting up the flares so she can move out quickly.

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day!
For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites.
For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

Adoption Fees:
$80 cats & kittens up to 6 years old
$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older

The Austin Animal Center is open for adoptions every day from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please note, Adoption and Pet Resource Center lines close at 6:00 p.m. We're closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Thanksgiving Day to give our staff some time with family.
Interested adopters should come to the shelter during business hours to meet with a counselor start looking for a pet who'll be a good fit. Our counselors and volunteers are happy to help with that process.
