Meet Promise, a 2 year old forever-puppy and toy enthusiast that is with us due to her owner simply not wanting to care for any longer. Promise doesn't let that get her down though, and she gives everyone a big grin with her crooked teefers as soon as she meets them! Could she really be 2 years old? Promise is very puppyish. She's only 30 pounds! She's overflowing with joy and silliness too. Silly is an understatement: when Promise is done with a meal, she carries her empty bowl around until it's out of her way! She seeks out soft, squishy toys that she can bury neatly in the dirt. She LOVES toys and will try to fit 4 or 5 of them in her mouth all at once! Promise is great on a leash and she sits when asked, and takes everything very gently. Her former owner states that she's good with cats but we need to confirm that......she is, however, very playful with other dogs. Promise is a fun-loving clown that's going to bring joy to the good family that welcomes her home! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org to meet her. File#75456 9/3/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
