Teddy is truly a wonderful canine companion who is eagerly awaiting his forever home. This sweet, gentle boy has a calm, easygoing demeanor that makes him the perfect addition to any household.
His relaxed nature also means he's content to simply lounge on the couch or curl up at his owner's feet, making him more of a "couch potato" than an energetic ball of fire. Teddy is house-trained and is learning to walk nicely on a leash. He is doing wonderful but new owners will need to be patient and work with him on his leash skills.
When it comes to meeting new people, Teddy can be a bit shy at first but once he senses the kindness and affection of his human, his friendly, loving personality quickly emerges. Teddy has also shown that he gets along well with other dogs, displaying no signs of reactivity when meeting them through fences.
And for those who enjoy taking their canine companions on the road, Teddy proves to be an excellent travel companion, riding calmly in the car when securely tethered.

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
