Meet LAZOR, a gentle intuitive pup with a heart of gold. Now in foster care, he has waited far too long for a forever family. His foster says:
"Lazor is a calm, affectionate companion who loves being close to his people. Whether greeting visitors with a gentle lick or alerting by pointing with his nose when someone arrives, he’s always attentive and well-behaved. Wonderful with elderly at home and the nursing home. While he may not be formally service trained, his instincts are spot-on and he’s great with kids and visitors, including the family’s 9 year old. He’s also potty trained and gets along well with the foster’s indoor cat. He may chase small animals like chickens or outdoor stray cats but is easy-going with his indoor kitty pal. This cuddly, affectionate retriever mix loves car rides, behaves well in public... a joy to have around."
When his foster family is home, he’s perfectly content to rest quietly in his crate or at your feet without fuss. He can get a little worried when you are not around so someone who is home more than not would be ideal for him. He is a loyal and devoted best friend. If you’re looking for a loving, well-mannered companion with a playful side, LAZOR is your perfect match

More about this shelter
The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
