My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***This is a courtesy listing on behalf of Animal Defenders Alliance (ADA). The Bully Sanctuary is temporarily fostering Louise at the sanctuary. All adoption requirements are that of ADA.***

Louise is a young mixed-breed dog who is friendly with both people and other dogs. Full of energy and curiosity, she has a playful and wiggly personality. While she shares a strong bond with her sister, Thelma, she could be adopted separately into a suitable home. She is UTD with all required vaccines and flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She is scheduled to be spayed in October 2024.

Louise loves to explore her surroundings and is always on the lookout for new adventures. Her favorite activities include chasing after balls, going for walks, and enjoying all the pets she can get. She's quick to learn new tricks and is eager to please, making her an excellent candidate for training sessions.

In her downtime, Louise enjoys snuggling up on her bed with her sister and/or people, relishing in the warmth and comfort of a loving home. She's the kind of companion who will greet you with a wagging tail and a joyful demeanor every time you walk through the door.

Additional adoption info

We pride ourselves in having an easy to navigate and qualify adoption process, so long as you meet the requirements of our program mission.

We understand that pet adoptions can feel complicated and time consuming, which is why we've worked hard to remove many of the typical obstacles you may find in other rescue adoption processes.

Due to the nature of our adoptions and our Mission, our adoptions fees are based on a sliding scale, from $0-$300. In addition, we do accept donations and adoption sponsors. What we really ask for is that you provide a loving, stable home, and tell your friends about our mission. Sharing is caring!

Go meet their pets

We welcome meet and greets by appointment, Sunday through Tuesday, every week. We are very flexible with the time of day and can accommodate most schedules. Our only ask is that you are prepared for many “welcomes smiles and barks” from the big dogs. If for any reason you might feel uncomfortable in such an environment with 15+ large pit bull type dogs within visible range (secured, but nearby), no problem! Just let us know in advance, and we’ll make sure to accommodate.

More about this rescue

We are a bully breed dog rescue and sanctuary, in Shiner, TX, centrally located between Houston, San Antonio, and Austin. As avid bully breed lovers and an incorporated Texas non-profit, we go above and beyond the call of duty to maintain a level of care for every dog here. We are committed to rescuing and rehabilitating bully breeds and mixes, providing them with a second chance at life. By providing a safe and nurturing environment, we aim to give bully breeds an opportunity to thrive, while challenging negative stereotypes and promoting responsible ownership, either here at the sanctuary or through rehoming with intentional adoptions to veterans, active duty military families, and people with disabilities or mental health conditions.
