My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bodie is a spirited and exuberant dog, always eager to play and explore. His enthusiasm is contagious, he approaches each day with a wagging tail and some barking. However, his strong personality means that he can be a bit dog reactive, making him a better fit for experienced dog owners who understand the needs of a Border Collie and can provide him with the proper training and socialization.
As Bodie is a Border Collie, he is naturally incredibly agile and athletic. He loves to run, jump, catch frisbees and engage in any other activity that challenges his mind and body. He is a very quick learner, and he thrives on mental stimulation. He will need to be kept busy with puzzle toys and interactive games to keep him happy.
While Bodie’s energy and intelligence make him a wonderful companion, his dog reactivity may be challenging. He is not suitable for households with children or with inexperienced dog owners who would struggle to manage his strong-willed nature. He will need to be the only pet in the household as he displays resource guarding towards other dogs. With the right guidance and consistent training, Bodie can learn to navigate his surroundings with more confidence.
Bodie's vibrant spirit and zest for life remind those around him to embrace every moment with enthusiasm! With the right owner who can provide structure and love, Bodie has the potential to be an incredible companion. He is more than ready to leave shelter life behind and wants to embark on some new adventures! Please be aware that Bodie is available only to a breed knowledgeable and experienced home, or for a herding specific rescue to pull him from the shelter.

More about this shelter

Want to adopt a pet and give them a forever home? We're thrilled! Our pro-adoption shelter places 200 to 300 dogs and small animals every year with families and homes that best meet the needs of the animals.

We have dogs of all ages, from newborn puppies to senior dogs. While puppies are popular, older dogs can be great pets, too. They are smart and grateful companions that won't leave you with puppy puddles or chewed-up slippers. Why not enrich your life and that of an older dog?

We also adopt out small animals including rabbits, hamsters, birds, rats, guinea pigs, and sometimes reptiles.
