Meet our playful and silly girl named Sandy! Sandy came to us after she was found wandering in the city alone. We believe she is about 3 years old and she is some type of mini Poodle mix, possibly mixed with Yorkshire Terrier. As you can see from her current pictures, Sandy came to us in terrible grooming condition. Most of her body is matted, and her legs and feet are like matted rocks. She is another case of someone getting a non shedding type dog, but not taking responsibility for the extra grooming needs that come with these breeds. Although she looks to be in rough shape, Sandy is super outgoing and loves to be with her people! She is a lap dog and will hop right up for pets and cuddles. She takes a minute to meet someone new, but once she's comfortable she will be all over you! Sandy is an active little girl who likes to go for walks. She has no problem jumping up on a couch to be with you.
Sandy seems fine with other dogs and she can go to a home with children 12 years old and older. This Monday 10/7, she is going to our vet to be spayed and shaved. She will look very different from these current pictures after that.
Sandy's adopter MUST have experience with dogs that need REGULAR PROFESSIONAL GROOMING!

MAC IS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK (M-F 8-4pm) (Sat-Sun 10-4pm) Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal. Appts to meet dogs can made to suit your schedule, please email/call for an appt. We do prefer to be contacted by email for adoption inquiries at Adopt@savingpawsct.org. You must be 21 years of age to adopt with valid ID. There is a short application for adoption, however if you do not own your home, or you own a condo, we must speak with your landlord or housing association giving permission to dogs/cats. Bully breed specific permission is required if you rent or own a condo. If you own your home, proof of home ownership is required. If there are other pets in the home they must be licensed (if a dog) and up to date on vaccinations. If there is another dog in the home a dog interaction must be done at the shelter before adoption, to ensure the safety and well being of all pets. All children in the home need to be declared and brought down to meet the animal.
Applications must be submitted and approved BEFORE a meet and greet can be scheduled to meet an animal.

An approved application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not hold animals for meet and greet appointments.

ALL ANIMALS ARE SPAYED AND NEUTERED BEFORE THEY GO HOME.
