My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Buffy, a kitten with a zest for life. I'm as sweet as sugar, always ready to share a purr or a cuddle. I love to play, my energy knows no bounds. Chasing toys, exploring nooks and crannies, or just enjoying a good old-fashioned romp around the room, I'm your girl. I'm also a friend in the making, always eager to make new pals. When it's time to wind down, there's nothing I enjoy more than curling up in a warm lap for a nap. My friendly and playful nature would brighten any home. Adopt me, and let's create beautiful memories together.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
