My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Personality & Characteristics: Sweet Potato is the biggest lover girl! She'll follow you around the house as you do chores and lay next to you when you work. She has a few bouts of energy throughout the day so be prepared with some toys/engagement activities or a dog she can play with. This girl is very food motivated and so eager to please. She's a bit sensitive to loud engines/noises while on walks but she's adjusting very quickly. As of now, she can be alone for 1-2 hours at a time - just be sure to take her out to potty beforehand and give her something to play with as you leave.
My foster dog is good with: great with dogs, not yet tested with kids/cats
My foster dog is: House trained, not crate trained, but not destructive when left alone
3 Keywords for your pup: playful, sweet, friendly
Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 5-6. A few bouts of playful energy, but tires out relatively quickly and will take a long nap afterwards.
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Pretty quiet unless she needs to communicate something important!
Walking Manners: eager/erratic, working on leash manners + would benefit from some training to build her confidence.
Appetite: Excellent. Treat motivated + finishes all of her meals
Does the following: Good in the car and bath tub, slightly nervous outside in NYC (lots of stimulation), mild separation anxiety but she's learning someone will always come back for her
Favorite Things: playing with other dogs, giving big hugs + kisses, mealtime
Commands/Tricks: "look", "let's go", still working on "sit", "down", "drop", "leave it"

ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.

Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
