My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Could this cutie pie be YOUR Honey Bee?

Honey Bee is excited to show you her resilience after having a rough start in life. Her parents were evicted from their home, and she found herself living at the shelter in Hall County. The volunteers there loved her so much and they helped her get to rescue, and a staff member there even fostered her! Honey Bee is definitely potty trained, gets the biggest zoomies, and loves to run in circles with a toy in her mouth. She knows "sit," she is good on a leash (after she's been allowed to exert some energy), and she LOVES to play fetch - usually bringing the ball back, but sometimes getting so excited that she forgets. Honey  Bee enjoyes basking in the sunshine and rolling in the grass- just getting to be a dog. She desperately wants a lap to crawl in and a face to kiss. She is a perfect "pocket pittie" size at ~40 lbs.

Honey Bee is so sweet, intuitive, and intelligent. She is undergoing heartworm treatment. She prefers to share her home with humans only.

Please open your heart to Honey Bee and show her what a committed, loving family is - we want to make sure no one ever lets her down again.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a four part process.

Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references.

Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members.

Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt.

Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is a flat rate per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.

Go meet their pets

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.

More about this rescue

We are a small canine rescue group located in Northeast Georgia that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, fully vet, and re-home faithful dogs that have been tossed out of cars onto rural roads. We are a registered, 501c3 tax deductible Non Profit Rescue and we are licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture

All dogs in our program have been previously reported to animal control to ensure they were not lost pups who had a family diligently looking for them. We do not turn a dog away due to breed, health concerns, or age. It is our goal to keep these dogs out of animal shelters, thus saving their lives and providing more time to the dogs already in shelters to find their forever family.
