START was recently called to a home to rescue a litter of kittens. Who knew it would be a family affair with a young mom, dad and three babies huddled in a filthy crawl space. The three little ones were nestled together, sound asleep in the food bowl, making it very easy for us to scoop them up. A bath was our first priority once the family was indoors. Born in early July, 2024, Cricket is a black and white tuxedo girl. She is still deciding if she likes the indoor life and may let out a hiss or two. Pick her up and she is very comfortable in your arms. She will need quite a bit of holding in her new home.
Cricket is vaccinated, altered, FeLV/FIV tested negative and microchipped. Save The Animals Rescue Team, (S.T.A.R.T.) is a non-profit humane organization, founded by Annette Lamberti, that rescues stray, abandoned, injured, and abused kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. The animals rescued are examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and placed in one of our volunteer foster homes. Since S.T.A.R.T. does not have a shelter facility, these animals remain in our foster care until they are adopted. So many of these unfortunate animals are victims of pet overpopulation, therefore, this life-saving work is critical!!
It is our mission to prevent cruelty, promote spay/neuter, and to encourage awareness through education, while also teaching respect for all animals and the environment they live in. S.T.A.R.T. is a 501 (c)(3) private non-profit organization relying on and supported by tax-deductible donations, grants and group fund raising.
