My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Excalibur was brought in by his previous owner on September 28, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Excalibur, a charming but shy feline on a quest to find his new home. He is a sweet soul who will thrive in a patient and loving environment. Excalibur is still adjusting to human companionship, so he may take some time to warm up. An extended confinement period in a quiet room will help him feel safe and secure. Used to living with multiple cats, he's looking for a home with an established, social cat to guide him. Alternatively, he can be adopted alongside one of his current roommates for extra comfort! A calm and patient household is essential, as this will allow Excalibur to gradually build confidence. With a little time and love, we expect he will flourish and reveal his true, affectionate self. If you have patience and a warm heart, Excalibur is waiting to join your adventure. Are you ready to be his knight in shining armor?

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
