Jerry was brought in by a community member on August 20, 2024.

Jerry may start off a bit shy and reserved, but with patience and a few tasty treats, he'll soon warm up and show you just how affectionate he can be. Jerry has a keen sense of curiosity and loves to sniff around and explore his surroundings. He's a gentle soul who will thrive in a calm and patient environment, where he can build trust at his own pace. When he's comfortable, Jerry will happily jump into your lap, seeking out attention. He also has a history of living with another dog, and may do great in a home with a resident pup!

It's important to know that Jerry can be a bit uneasy with certain forms of handling and restraint. His new family should be willing to take things slow and work on making handling a positive experience through gentle touch and rewards like treats to help him feel more secure and confident. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.
