My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member on September 22, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:

Meet Plum! This charming girl with a heart of gold is ready to find her forever family. Plum may have a touch of grey on her muzzle, but don't be fooled-she's a lively spirit who's always up for a new adventure! From tail-wagging walks to fun-filled outings, Plum brings energy and joy wherever she goes.

Plum is a big fan of belly rubs and has a unique way of showing her happiness-an adorable belly-crawl through the grass! She's also wonderfully food-motivated, making her both fun and easy to train. She already knows how to sit and shake, and her eagerness to please makes her a quick learner for even more tricks.

This social butterfly charmed everyone when she was featured as NBC 7's Pet of the Week, as well as at KUSI - and it's easy to see why. With her warm personality and friendly nature, Plum is a true people lover. Adopting Plum means gaining a devoted, joyful companion who will fill your life with laughter, love, and endless tail wags.

If you're ready for a loyal friend who will brighten your days, Plum is waiting to meet you!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
