My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Shock arrived:
Shock was transferred in from another animal welfare organization.

Why Shock might be the one for you:
Shock is a shy but sweet cat looking for a calm and loving home. Shock is motivated by Churu treats and tuna. When presented with either, Shock forgets her shyness and comes out to eat. After her treats, she will stretch out full length and want some head and chin pets. . We predict that full body pets and rollovers for belly rubs will come next. She is a beautiful cat with a classic black and white coat that she keeps very clean and likes to have brushed. With patience, she'll warm up, be by your side and be a valued part of your family. Shock has FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus), which we can tell you about but she can still live a long, healthy life. Shock just needs a little extra TLC and a stress free environment. Chaos and change are not for her. She will make a wonderful companion! Could you be her next family?.

At SDHS:
Shock has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
