My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Brad is a quiet, slightly shy cat with a gentle soul who's hoping to find a patient, loving home. Though he may take some time to warm up to new people at first, once he feels safe in his new environment, his affectionate side shines through and he'll love all the attention he can get. Brad enjoys calm, cozy environments where he can slowly build trust at his own pace. He loves curling up in quiet corners or observing the world from a sunny windowsill. He may have a playful side come out in the home as well given time. While he's not the first to approach, with a little time and understanding, Brad becomes a loyal companion who appreciates soft pets and gentle attention. He would likely thrive in a peaceful household and most likely do well with other pets and maybe older children with proper, slow introductions. He came from a home with a large group of cats and kittens, so may really enjoy having a feline friend. If you're willing to give this sweet boy a chance, Brad could become your most devoted friend.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
