My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Seymour is a friendly but slightly shy young cat with a gentle soul who's hoping to find a quiet, loving home. Though he may take a little time to adjust in his new home, once he feels safe, his affectionate and playful side shines through. He'll be all over you for cuddles in no time! Seymour enjoys calm, cozy environments where he can slowly build trust at his own pace. He loves curling up in quiet corners or observing the world from a sunny windowsill. While he's not the first to approach, with a little time and understanding, Seymour becomes a loyal companion who appreciates soft pets and gentle attention. He would thrive in a peaceful household, perhaps with other pets. If you're willing to give this sweet boy a chance, Seymour could become your most devoted friend. He may be fine with other pets (particularly cats having been from a home with lots of felines) and older kids who are cat savvy with proper, slow introductions. Seymour will make a wonderful, loving companion once he settles into his fur-ever home.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
