My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gertie! Gertie is a 1 year old Pyrenees mix, searching for a loving forever home. She came to us as a stray, so little is known about her past.

Gertie is an outgoing, playful, affectionate pup. She is a guardian breed, so she takes a minute to assess strangers, but warms up very quickly! She loves treats, pets, and play. Gertie is a pro at basic commands, like sit and stay. She walks nicely on leash, but might pull on occasion if she gets really interested in a smell!

The Great Pyrenees is a working dog originally bred to protect flocks and herds in the Pyrenees Mountains of France and Spain. This gentle, strong guardian breed will protect livestock, people, children, grass, other pets, lawn furniture, or anything else from real or imaginary predators. While reserved with strangers, Pyrs fiercely guard their families, particularly children, making them good house dogs. Known for their laid-back, easygoing, and independent nature, these protective pups also bark a lot to keep their loved ones safe.

Gertie's ideal home would be with a family that is able to give her lots of love, and attention, and who are capable of providing the necessary training, and activity that her breed requires.

If you think Gertie could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.
