With his dark good looks he has a touch of enchanting mystique, but it’s his heart of gold that makes Shadow a lovable charmer! This super soft boy is black as a deep night sky tipped with silver like he’s been kissed by moonlight. He’s a sweet, affectionate classic, one of six beautiful kittens born in a large overturned flowerpot to a young tabby mom. It’s no surprise that happy romps, games, and explorations with his lively troupe of siblings occupy much of every day, and he also does well with adult cats and small children. He hasn’t really been exposed to dogs. Don’t be surprised if you have a funny little helper, especially with chores like clothes folding, since he likes to be nearby and useful where possible! When it’s time to relax, he’ll hope to snuggle into a welcoming lap or a cozy corner for a nice nap. Easy-going and good-natured, as well as playful and curious, this velvety little gent is sure to be a sweet joy in a forever family that will love and protect him. All cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for fleas and ear mites, tested for FELV/FIV and microchipped. You must fill out an adoption application and talk directly with one of our adoption coordinators. An adoption contract must be signed at time of adoption.

You may visit The Cat House daily, except major holidays, 1-4 pm, by appointment only. We also have an off-site adoption center located inside Petco at 4144 N. Blackstone at Ashlan in Fresno, which is open open daily 10am-5pm and Wednesday 10am-6pm.

The Cat House on the Kings is California's largest no-cage, no-kill, lifetime cat sanctuary and adoption center located on 12 acres along the Kings River in Parlier, California, which is in the central San Joaquin Valley, southeast of Fresno.

At The Cat House, our mission is to:
1) provide a no-cage, no-kill sanctuary for feral and abandoned cats and kittens for the State of California, primarily serving the Central Valley;
2) facilitate the adoption of cats (primarily), dogs and other rescued animals into safe, loving, healthy and permanent homes;
3) educate the public on how to become directly involved in improving the quality of animal welfare;
4) offer low cost spay and neuter referrals.
