My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi there! My name is Baxter, and I am 12.6 lbs. I came into the rescue scared and unsure of myself.  I didn't know how to be a part of a family.  I was used to being part of a group of 30 chihuahuas that ran loose in a neighborhood getting into trouble until I was put in a paddy wagon.  I thought I was going to the slammer.  Instead I ended up  at the ranch.

I had volunteers sitting with us for hours, teaching us the wonders of taking treats and playing with toys.   Now I am a reformed character.  I want to be a part of a family where I will be the bestest boy ever.  I’ll be the best lap dog you could ever ask for!

I get along well with other dogs and love to eat treats and be the center of attention.  I’m fully vaccinated, neutered, and ready to find my forever home. I even got a ProHeart 6 to protect me from heartworms and I got a microchip so I will really belong to someome.  My adoption fee is only $300 and you can apply for me at www.adoggie4you.org.

Currently, I’m in Texas, but I can be transported to Washington, Portland (OR), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (KY), or anywhere along the East Coast! Please note, there’s an additional transport fee of $225. We cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their state regulations. Will you be the one to give me my forever home

Additional adoption info

Adoption application is required. Applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. A picture of your home or yard may be requested

All dogs and puppies are fully vetted prior to adoption (spay/neuter, rabies, 3 DHPP, bordetella and heartworm test/treat if positive) and are micro-chipped.
Our fees start at $200, transport out of Texas is arranged by us and is generally an additional $200.
We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet. Our contract requires if an adoption does not work out the dog is to be returned to us. We need at least two weeks notice.
