My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lennard, he is such a cool dog and very easy on the eyes. Lennard is built like an athlete and loves to be out and about checking things out. Not much is known about the direction of his life before he came into our care, but this loving boy is nothing but a ball of joy, ready for his next steps in life!

Lennard has been described by our walkers as eager, energetic and enjoys human companionship. In the closer quarters of daily life alongside other dogs Lennard can be more prickly, so he may be most comfortable as the only dog in his next home, or may be capable of living with a forgiving dog friend with some support from his family around sharing and space.

With his youthful exuberance, we're betting he would love an outdoorsy family or a family that enjoys spending quality time playing with or teaching their dog fun skills! Meet him today and get a feel for how exciting life can be with Lennard at your side!

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter and first vaccines, medical exam, and microchip.

How to Adopt from Foothills Animal Shelter:
Visit the Shelter or one of our offsite adoption partner locations to find a pet. Once you’ve decided on an animal, you should check with staff to see the status and history of the animal. At this time, you can fill out an adoption application and visit with the animal.

We recommend you bring all family members to the Shelter to meet with the animal before you consider adopting. If you are interested in adopting a dog, bring any household dogs to the Shelter to determine if it is a good match. Also, if you rent your home, please bring the pet policy in your lease or rental agreement and contact information for your landlord.

Once your application is reviewed, you can pay the adoption fees and take your new pet home. It may take some time for your new pet to adjust to its new environment. If you have questions or concerns after adopting, please contact us at 303-278-7575.

More about this shelter

Foothills Animal Shelter, formerly known as Table Mountain Animal Center, is an open-admissions facility (never turning away an animal) and one of the largest animal shelters in the metro Denver area – taking in 9,000 animals each year. We are a true community resource that offers a broad variety of animal welfare programs and services. Low-cost spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and dog licensing are some of the services offered to the public.

The organization’s important mission: to provide the best care possible for every animal that enters our doors.

Community, Adopt, Reunite and Educate (C.A.R.E.) are the four key principles of Foothills Animal Shelter.
