My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arielle is a sweet brown Shepherd mix whose estimated DOB is 04/25/2017 and she weighs about 40 pounds. She was adopted from us 7 years ago and was just returned to us as her owner could no longer take care of her. That's not Arielle's fault. Now she just needs a new human she can love! Arielle is sweet and loves to be petted. Her age isn't slowing her down, as she has plenty of playful energy! She can sit, knows off but needs practice, and come.
She would love to practice her skills and learn more from you when you take her home. Come meet Arielle today and fill the big void that only the love of a kind human can fill.

Arielle is sponsored by Angie Wilson. Thank you Angie for your generous donation in honor of Arielle!

Our adoption fee is $125 for small breed dogs under 20 pounds and $100 for all other dogs and cats unless otherwise noted in their bio. Every pet available for adoption is current on shots spayed/neutered, and microchipped. You may submit an application online for pre-approval and to set an appointment or you can visit the shelter Wednesday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm. Please note that the kennels close for pet viewing at 4:30pm.

More about this shelter

The mission of the Humane Society of Pulaski County is to rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned, abused, homeless and unwanted animals; to reduce suffering of animals; and to reduce the number of homeless animals through adoption, spay/neuter, and through education.

The Humane Society of Pulaski County provides access to low-cost, healthy, inoculated, sterilized animals to people seeking to adopt animals as pets only. Adopters are screened to see if they can provide the basics of care for the animals, proper housing, and continued veterinary maintenance; and have no history of animal abuse or irresponsible ownership.

The Humane Society is a private no-kill shelter, supported solely by donations, fund-raisers, bequests and grants. We receive no city, county or state funding, nor are we affiliated with any other organization. We have been rescuing animals since 1946, and have been in our present building since 2000.
