My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Moose! I am a little ball of love with the best eyebrows and beautiful cattle dog markings. I am curious and happy but a little reserved when seeing/hearing new things. But I LOVE meeting all people and will dive into your lap to get all the cuddles. Like all puppies, I'm full of energy and will need a home that can devote time to helping me get it out. My herding instinct has already kicked in and I think ankles, toes, and shoes are delicious! Foster mom says they aren't for biting, but she hasn't convinced me yet. I picked up leash walking almost immediately and am learning to love walks. I like to hold the leash in my mouth and foster mama says I melt her heart. I'm still very little so just learning about going potty outside. I go in my crate without complaint for naps and sleep through the night like a big boy. I'm fostered in St. Augustine, FL living the good life until my forever family finds me. I think that's you!

Please note: If there is no one home during the day, a puppy is not a good choice. Adopters should read about the "breed/mix" to be sure they are ready to add one of these little cuties to their home. They require plenty of exercise and training to become the amazing family dogs they can be.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application. When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Go meet their pets

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
