My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Ruby, and I’m named that because I am SO precious (and because my fur is deep red!)
Im a mama to two little pups, but I am ready to find my own home. I’ve been living on the streets and gave birth to my two boys underneath a sofa at the Maili Food Bank about 2 months ago. I’m a very clean mama and keep my area and my boys clean.
I’m learning to go potty outside and don’t have any accidents in the house when my foster mom is gone. Although I don’t like my crate very much, I’ll go in it when I’m home alone so I don’t revert to my stray dog ways & look for food in the trash or in the litter box.
I get along well with other dogs and cats and especially with humans. I love to curl up next to my foster mom when she’s working on the computer or watching TV. I follow her all around the house so I can feel like I belong. I let her know when I need to go out to do my business when I stand at the door. I love to be pet and stroked and I eat all of my food when I’m fed. I’m still learning how to be an indoor dog, but I’m doing really well. I take baths well and love to smell fresh and clean.
Please let me be your next family member. I will love you and be loyal to you for the rest of my life!

More about this shelter

We provide a sanctuary for neglected, abandoned or abused animals and promote compassionate and humane treatment for all animals. We hope our residents will find a loving home with a lifelong companion or a loving family; but if they never find that home, they are welcomed into the family.

For our listed adoptable animals we pay for their spay/neuter services, flea and tick medications, vaccinations, de-worming and a spot on our website and the Adopt a Pet Partner site every day until the best home is found. We can also offer in person meet and greets with an approved application.

We are called to care for these animals because we believe all lives matter and have meaning. We do not believe killing is an acceptable answer.
