Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Nala
This gorgeous young pup, Nala, is a purebred miniature Australian Shepherd. Nala was dumped at a truck stop, picked-up by a high-kill shelter. We subsequently rescued Nala and brought her to the safety of our shelter where she'll be safe until we find her a forever home.
Nala is a gem. She is a beautiful young pup, about a year and a half old. She is petite at just 28 lbs., with a gorgeous silky brown and white coat, intelligent eyes and a happy smile. Nala is very energetic, as most mini Aussies. She is incredibly smart. Nala is a little shy, not really knowing what is happening to her. She's had a hard and uncertain life and has gone through so many changes in such a short time. That said, Nala bonds with her person, once she feels safe and loved. She is sweet, friendly, curious, and affectionate with her person. She walks easily on leash. Nala likes other dogs. She cautiously exhibits puppy interest and energy in playing with them. Another welcoming and energetic dog in the home may be just what she needs. She travels well in a car, looks forward to adventures and once in a steady environment she is going to be the best dog she can be. Nala will need a little help with potty training. If you know Aussies though, they are smart dogs and with some consistency and patience Nala would learn quickly. Nala would love a fenced yard so she can run and play in safety.
We love this little nugget! So much adorable personality wrapped up in Nala. We really hope that a perfect family or person sees her and wants to welcome her with open arms. If interested in Nala, please submit a dog application found online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website.
Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No Kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.
