Berkley is all set to find his new home! He's a doodle mix, part poodle, but we're not sure what else. At 9 months old, he currently weighs 23 pounds and will likely reach around 30 pounds when fully grown. Berkley was found alone in a parking lot in Houston after a storm. He's now in Buffalo and has declared his allegiance to the Bills!
Berkley, or "Bonkers" as his foster mom affectionately calls him, is a very active and playful dog. He loves to run around the yard by himself or with his foster buddies, and he enjoys playing games. Berkley is also affectionate and enjoys being pet and giving kisses. He is currently learning basic commands like sit and down, and he is doing well with housetraining. However, he was previously trained on potty pads, so he may still use those. Please expect some adjustment time and additional training as he gets used to a new routine.
Berkley is a champ at crate training and we're working on getting him comfortable walking on a leash. It's super important to have a fully fenced yard (no invisible fences) because he will not come back to you if he gets away. He thinks it's a game and will dodge you forever! While he does eventually listen to verbal commands, it did take him a while to get the hang of it. He's great with other dogs and would love to have a playful buddy, but if his owner or family is active and can play with him, that's awesome too. He's also really curious about cats and sees them as potential playmates rather than foes. All in all, Berkley is an absolute blast and will fill your days with laughter and love!
Regular grooming will also be necessary, so please keep that in mind if you are thinking about adopting a doodle breed. Although he doesn't shed, he is not considered hypoallergenic because we do not know his mix.
Berkley is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $650
