Bruno is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match!
Bruno and his four siblings were born in rural Texas and raised mostly outside on the streets, with only each other and their mom for company. Mom was a gorgeous husky who sadly became very sick, which was discovered after a good samaritan trapped mom and her pups to get them out of the elements. The vet discovered that mom had cancer, and a local rescuer reached out to us about helping her pups.
We knew when we committed to taking them in that they had been through a lot and were pretty under-socialized with people. We are so proud of how far they have all come in less than two weeks!
Each pup wound up in a loving foster home! Bruno lives with a couple and their ten year old son, and two dogs. Bruno is almost fully housebroken, and he is great with the young son. He especially loves his dog siblings and showers them with lip licks when he can! He is not a super rambunctious puppy at all (not yet, anyways...!).
Hi foster mom writes, "Meet Bruno, a sweet and gentle soul with a heart full of love! Although he's a bit shy at first when meeting new people and dogs, give him a little time and he'll warm up into the most loyal companion. Bruno is a curious explorer who loves to play with his toys and especially enjoys playtime with his two husky foster siblings and his human buddy, a 10-year-old boy. He's great with other dogs and would thrive in a home with kids who can match his gentle, playful energy. With a little patience, you'll see that Bruno is an absolute sweetheart who's ready to be your new best friend!"
Bruno's adoption fee is $400. This animal is neutered and up to date on core vaccines appropriate for their age. They will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age.
