My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bernard is a charming and vocal 4-year-old Bulldog mix with a personality as big as his love for conversation! This lovable guy loves to "talk" – whether it's a happy grunt, a grumble, or his signature a-woos, Bernard is always ready to share his thoughts with you. His unique vocalizations are guaranteed to keep you entertained, and he’s always up for a chat (or at least a good belly rub!). Bernard is looking for a temporary foster home this holiday season, where he can relax, have some good conversations, and share his charm with a new family. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and in good health.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you laughing with his "talking" and snuggles, Bernard is your guy! He's ready to make your holidays even more special with his unique personality.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
