Meet Imbros, a sweet and snuggly 2.5-year-old pitbull mix, with a slight Staffordshire Terrier build. This affectionate boy is the ultimate cuddle buddy—he loves nothing more than being close to his people, and if you’re lucky, he’ll crawl right into your lap for some extra love. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or going on adventures, Imbros is always ready to join in the fun.
Imbros has a gentle, loving nature and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. He’s had successful playdates and shows great social skills. On walks, he’s a dream—he’s comfortable both on and off-leash and has almost perfect recall. He’s fully potty trained and does well with new people, both men and women.
Though Imbros has had a tough past, it hasn’t dampened his spirit. He’s a bit cautious around fast movements, but he responds beautifully to gentle redirection using only verbal cues. He’s incredibly food-motivated and loves his meals, especially with a slow feeder to keep him entertained. He’s respectful around food, never trying to steal from the table or jump on counters.
Imbros is crate-trained but also enjoys having the freedom to roam when you’re away—he’s been trusted with full access to the house and has never had an issue. He’s also working through some skin sensitivities, but with a little extra TLC like oatmeal baths and coconut oil, he’s doing much better.
Imbros strikes the perfect balance of playful and relaxed. He loves to be involved in family activities but is just as happy to curl up and enjoy a quiet nap. We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
