Diamond and Duke Evers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnddOuchq8U
Behavior Notes:
Per volunteer 12/23: Diamond was crouched in kennel when I approached and was fearful but not too hard to leash. Outside, she is hesitant and darty on the leash. We saw two dogs while walked and she pulled towards however her tail was completely tucked. While pulling, she did attempt to back out of/ dance free from the leash. In the run, she was mostly avoidant but no concerns about handling.
Per staff 12/23/24:
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Diamond was standing at the font with soft eyes and mid level wags. She got a bit nervous when the door was opened and got nervous of the leash coming over her head but still allowed the handler to secure her. Once secured she came right out.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally
HANDLING:
In the room, Diamond walked around curiously and even came up to take a treat which she took gently. She knows to shake, sit and down. She is very sweet and intelligent. She allowed all handling and remained loose. She got a little nervous with over head handling and ducked away but besides that it was very open. When she doesn't expect handling she does flinch but still allows the handler to pet her.
PLAY:
Interest
TOYS:
Takes possession and releases willingly
Per owner 12/22/24: sweet inquisitive goofy, cuddly, med energy levels, loves toys, food, play time, being w/everyone, Dislikes: loud noises, being outside alone. Medium energy. Recommended: single dog home w/ a yard to help potty train her, an adopter who has maybe had shepherds in the past and know how to train them keep them stimulated she plays well with dogs outside the home
Per staff 10/4/24: Diamond did well for her dog meets today! She was a little nervous greeting initially, and would greet with a tight, slightly lowered body, lots of lip licks, and ears back. However, she did not like when another dog reacted to her. During her meet with Dakota, Dakota greeted her very stiff, and began to growl at her. When Dakota began growling Diamond returned with her own growls, but did not escalate past just growling. Once they were separated Diamond calmed down quickly and did not escalate.
Per owner 10/2/24: very playful and jumpy more on the sweet side
